LSC's
Patron is Charles Hazlewood, an innovative and distinguished
musician, who works as a broadcaster and conductor.
Charles started his career as a musician at Oxford University
where he was an organist and choral conductor, and has
since gone on to found an orchestra, co-found an opera
company, and broadcast on BBC Radio, Classic FM, and
BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four and Channel Four Television.
Charles has conducted orchestras and opera companies
the world over, and recently made his conducting debut
at the Carnegie Hall in New York. He is also the face
of the BBC Proms on television, presenting live broadcasts

Charles is an eclectic and versatile musician who is passionate
about quality music of all genres, believing that "good
music is for everyone, whether it's Monteverdi or Ice-T".
He has worked effortlessly to break down conceptual barriers
that have alienated 'classical' music for so long, working
with artists as varied as Broomhill Opera and Badly Drawn
Boy. We are very proud that he is associated with LSC as our
Patron.
