LSC was founded in 2001 by a group of talented young singers with Liverpool connections. The group is committed to promoting the values of performance, and to exploring the human qualities of music-making. LSC specialises in music from sixteenth, seventeenth, twentieth and twenty-first century England – presenting choral works in a plain and unpretentious manner so that their performance may be seen as an appropriate gesture in twenty-first century life.

LSC is delighted to be working with the people of Liverpool in the run-up to Liverpool 2008 – a celebration of the cultural vibrancy of one of Europe’s great cities – and is grateful for support from the John Lewis Partnership.

 

Current Projects

In 2007-08, LSC will focus on music from 16th and 17th century England, continuing to record works by Thomas Morley, William Child, Thomas Tomkins and Pelham Humfrey for a forthcoming CD release.

LSC in Oxford

LSC will be resident at Pembroke College, Oxford from 26-31 August this year. By kind permission of the master and fellows, LSC will be recording in private at the Damon Wells chapel of Pembroke College, and will sing in a liturgical performance at the University Church at 6pm on Thursday 30 August under Music Director Andrew Mellor. All are welcome and attendance is free of charge.
